Chris Stutzman is looking forward to leading MCL’s purchasing team in the new role of Purchasing Manager.

Chris has more than a decade of supply chain experience and enjoys analyzing current buying processes and finding ways to expand efficiencies. Over the course of nine years, Chris worked at Manitowoc Crane as a buyer, and then moved into the purchasing manager position before heading up a new department as the order fulfillment manager. In that role, he and his team focused on finding ways to get products to their customers faster by improving the parts purchasing process and developing better reporting.

More recently, Chris worked in purchasing at M-B Companies for 15 months before he found his place here at MCL. There are three main questions Chris is asking now as the MCL Purchasing Manager:

  1. What does the current purchasing process look like?
  2. Does the current process support MCL’s strategic objectives?
  3. If not, what changes and additional tools do we need to get us where we want to go?

So far, Chris has noticed that MCL has a lot of processes in place to guide the team through many situations that arise. His goal is to review those processes and ensure that Purchasing is working toward the goal of being proactive whenever possible while being better equipped to handle any exceptions.

Chris’ greatest goal is to see as much of the world as possible. So outside of work, Chris and his girlfriend enjoy traveling together. Some of the countries he has visited (either for work or pleasure) include Chile, Brazil, Japan, England, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany and France. He’s even seen some sights in the U.S. and is always looking for the next opportunity to explore.
